About

Aloha y’all. I am the Scrappy Camper, Amy Cook. My mission is to create scrap quilts with a modern vibe that both honor the tradition of quilting and blaze new trails in the industry.

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was a small girl, and it was one of the best gifts she ever gave me. I made my first quilt when I was about 12 years old. It was a butterfly pattern, which I appliquéd by hand onto muslin squares. Sadly, that quilt got washed away by hurricane Katrina.

I’ve been married to a traveling soldier for almost three decades now and we’ve been all over the world. We’re currently living in Hawaii, which is wonderful.

My primary interests are scrap quilts (obviously), pieced quilts, and quilt design. I also enjoy making bags, wallets and other small projects.

I’ve been inspired by many great quilters over the years. I hope you find something inspiring here. Thanks for stopping by.
